Wicker tells the wholly original love story of an ostracized fisherwoman (Colman) who commissions a husband to be made by the local basketmaker (Dinklage). When her wicker husband (SkarsgÄrd) proves more spectacular than she ever imagined, his soulful spirit and unique prowess awaken something inside her, setting off a wave of jealousy, fascination, and upheaval that threatens the very fabric of village life.
I never in a million years thought I would very much enjoy this movie. I saw the trailer and was like you have got to be kidding me. But the honest and spot on social commentary about people paying so much attention to what others have - especially when they are different and either obsessing about having it or needing to ruin it massively hooked me. It was a very enjoyable watch - well acted across the board - and it really makes you kind of look in the mirror about how you would be in the shoes of the different characters if you allow the thoughts in your head.
I would definitely recommend people checking this movie out. Again - I'm completely shocked but I really liked this very strange concept of a movie because of the incredibly accurate social commentary.
