Zootopia 2

Detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who turns the mammal metropolis of Zootopia upside down. Testing their growing partnership like never before, they go under cover in new parts of town to crack the case.

I went back and watched the original movie about a week before seeing this and honestly forgot how much I had enjoyed it.  This movie is very much the same.  Great banter, great jokes, great messages for kids and adults.   Classic Disney without trying to drive points home too much.   Let's do more of this please.

I would absolutely recommend people checking this out.   Its a great watch for kids and adults with tons of awesome messages.

Sisu: Road To Revenge

Korpi dismantles the house where his family was murdered and loads it on a truck to rebuild it somewhere safe. He soon finds himself in a violent cross-country chase as the Red Army commander who killed his family comes back to finish the job.

Just like the first Sisu, this movie really pushes the envelope of action gore.  This movie is pretty much non-stop action that just continues to escalate as the movie goes on in mind blowing ways and the gore that comes from it is honestly on like Saw horror movie levels.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone that enjoyed the first.   It is very much more of the same.  If you have not seen that you can still watch this if you like out of control action but it is also very gory at the same time.

Nuremberg

As the Nuremberg trials are set to begin, a U.S. Army psychiatrist gets locked in a dramatic psychological showdown with accused Nazi war criminal Hermann Göring.

This was actually a really good movie with great acting across the board.   Not surprising really considering the cast.  My only issue is that this is one of those why did this movie have to be made kind of movies.   Like who was calling for this?   Not bad at all honestly.  But just like a weird choice to make sure it was made if that makes sense.

I would somewhat suggest people checking this out.  It has a lot of really good acting and the pacing is not too bad.  But again - it doesn't really stick with you because of the questionable need for it.  Especially with a 2 1/2 hour running time.

Wicked: For Good

Now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba lives in exile in the Ozian forest, while Glinda resides at the palace in Emerald City, reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, she'll need to reunite with Glinda to transform herself, and all of Oz, for good.

I was very worried about how they would do the second movie because with the musical the first act is a million times better than the second one.   There was a very tough job transitioning from the light and whimsical to the dark and consequential - including all the songs/music.   But they did a great job of focusing on the characters (even the supporting ones) and how they all tied into the Wizard Of Oz story that you already knew.   Ariana Grande was possibly even better in this one than the first and Cynthia Erivo continued her excellence.  The connection between those two somehow got stronger and stronger that by the time they were singing For Good it was very difficult to hold back the emotions.

I would definitely recommend people checking this out.  Kudos to John Chu for doing an incredible job with these two movies.   Very impressive.

The Running Man

In the near future, "The Running Man" is the top-rated show on television, a deadly competition where contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. Desperate for money to save his sick daughter, Ben Richards is convinced by the show's ruthless producer to enter the game as a last resort. Ratings soon skyrocket as Ben's defiance, instincts and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite, as well as a threat to the entire system.

I was not sure how to feel about this movie because the original The Running Man was one of my favorite movies as a kid / teenager.  Easily top three Arnold movies for me.   However, they tweaked some things with this remake and made it connect with the world today even though it was set in a dystopian world to make the movie very enjoyable even with the differences.   I was happy I was able to watch it disconnected from that and enjoy it.

I would definitely recommend people checking this movie out.   It was a fun ride and a great platform for Glen Powell as he continues his rise in acting.

Now You See Me Now You Don't

The Four Horsemen and a new generation of illusionists try to bring down a worldwide criminal network.

I was a big fan of the original and definitely enjoyed the sequel too.  I didn't really think that there was a need to continue this as a franchise but the third entry was still good nonetheless.  It was a good meshing of the old cast and a newer cast that could I guess carry it moving forward if needed.   Regardless, this is just a fun quick try to figure it out movie and enjoy the ride kind of experience.

I would definitely recommend people checking this out.  It was a fun ride just like the first two and the chemistry between the cast members are still very enjoyable.

Predator: Badlands

Cast out from its clan, an alien hunter and an unlikely ally embark on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

This was massively different from any other Predator movie.  Instead of the Predator being considered the villain hunting humans and what not it was the main character and gave backstory to their species and had you rooting for them.  It was very weird being so opposite but definitely still enjoyable at the same time.   The action and fight scenes were great and the best way to describe it was like you were watching a video game and the character's progression through it.  And in this movie that really wasn't a bad thing necessarily.

I would recommend people checking this out because it really was an enjoyable watch with different perspective on the predator.

Bugonia

Two conspiracy-obsessed men kidnap the CEO of a major company when they become convinced that she's an alien who wants to destroy Earth.

This was a weird weird movie.   It was basically carried by the over the top acting of the two leads.  I hate that the two of them seem to only do absurd movies at this point since they are honestly two of my favorite actors.   Please come back to mainstream movies, guys!

I wouldn't really recommend anyone checking this out unless I specifically knew if it would be your type of movie or not.   It is absolutely not a mainstream kind of movie.   Like at all.

Shelby Oaks

A woman's search for her long-lost sister becomes an obsession when she realizes a demon from their childhood may have been real, not imaginary.

Yet another instantly forgettable spirit chasing horror movie.   Why do so many of these get made?   This one tried to be part Paranormal Activity and part The Conjuring.  It ended up just being total poop.

I would not recommend anyone bothering with this.  Even though its super short it is still a massive waste of time.

Stitch Head

Fulbert Freakfinder convinces a mad professor's monstrous creation to star in his travelling circus.

This was very much a wannabe mashup of Nightmare Before Christmas and Monsters, Inc.  And it was also nowhere near the entertainment level of either.   This was basically a very eh knockoff during a time where there are no family movies out there.   Poor parents that spent money on this.

I would not recommend anyone checking this out.   It's just there and is very dull by today's animated family film standards.
