The Kitchen

The Kitchen is an adaptation of the DC/Vertigo female-fronted comic book series of the same name. The original series was written by Ollie Masters and illustrated by Becky Cloonan and Ming Doyle. The series takes place in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, in the 1970s and follows the wives of Irish mobsters. Ultimately, the wives step in and take over to start running the business after several men are arrested during a mafia sweep.

This movie is was pretty much exactly what you would expect it to be from the trailer.  Nothing special.  Not a bad movie.  Not a great movie.  Ultimately its just there and has some really strange casting for a dramatic movie.  It was tough to watch at times having to take two of the funniest women in Hollywood serious but it was still somewhat enjoyable.

I wouldn't recommend anyone rush out to see this.  Certainly not if you are fans of the two leads because this is NOT the type of performances that you would normally be going to see for them.  Its a decent watch but there is not too much more to say past that.
