Dune

Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence, only those who can conquer their own fear will survive.

This movie was very similar to the original attempt at making this movie.   Visually it was amazing.  I can see them winning all sorts of awards for the visual aspects of this movie.   But once you get past that this movie is honestly a pretty big snooze fest and doesn't pay off on any of the hype for scenes throughout the movie.  Like it honestly ends up feeling like the movie is an paid job.  There is such a thing as too sci fi and this definitely falls in that.   Add to that that this movie was basically a 2 1/2 hour prologue to what is to you are pretty annoyed when it ends.

Again - it has a great look to it all but I wasn't really a fan of it all because it was just too sci-fi.  When you have to explain as much as they had to then your movie is not firing on enough cylinders.
